A Vintage Fabric De-Stash!

Fans of vintage fabrics have to check out the newest additions to the store Funky Fabrix in Australia. Shona, the owner of this spectacular shop has delved into her personal vintage fabric collection and is offering a few of these goodies for sale. Nothing can quite beat an original vintage print. What is it that makes them so appealing? The vibrancy of colours and the quirky colour palettes? The detail and hand-drawn or painterly effect we are seeing less of in modern computer-designed fabrics? I don't know, but I wish I could sew. These are divine...

60s Floral Crepe - genuine vintage fabric, circa 1960s

60s Scandinavian Flowers - genuine vintage fabric, circa 1960s

60s Multi Stripe - genuine vintage fabric, circa 1960s

60s Hawaiian - genuine vintage fabric, circa 1960s

There is more than what I've shown here, and Funky Fabrix carries a huge range of textiles from genuine vintage through to retro modern, and organic. Shona has been collecting for ten years and has a whole room of vintage fabrics in her own collection, so here's hoping we'll be seeing some more! Love 'em :)

A huge thanks to Shona at Funky Fabrix for allowing Kitty as a Picture Kids Design Blog to publish these images.
