Aarrekid - Combining Illustration and Pattern

Children's clothing label Aarrekid, from Finland, achieves a wonderful marriage of illustration and pattern. Aarrekid garments stand out for their unique and intricate designs set against a clean white background.
Closer examination of the Aarrekid patterned clothes reveal the most charming illustrations. Endearing characters and animals, and meticulous line-work make up delightful fantasy scenes.
Simple black pieces in the range add a nice contrast, creating a modern look for kids that is quite individual.
Aarrekid products are 100% made in Finland and mostly of organic materials.

Currently there are two main patterned prints in the Aarrekid collection:
Enchanted Forest is designed by textile designer Piia Keto, who has her own brand as well called KAKSITVA, and Space is designed by textile designer Miia Kajaani.
Enchanted Forest T-shirt by Aarrekid.

Space Hoodie, Limited Edition, by Aarrekid.
Owl Print T-shirt by Aarrekid features a design by Lotta-Liina Salonen.

Space Dress by Aarrekid.

Space Dress and Space Foot-stool by Aarrekid.

I think the black line drawings, combined with limited splashes of colour on white, are really effective. Aarrekid is something different, and I'm liking it. I can't wait to see what Aarrekid's next collection will look like.
